Episode Notes:

First Principle: Need to look at our view of God

• Can I trust God to have my best interests at heart?
• Is your God a good Father?
• Can I put my faith in Him?
• It could be likened to having a filter/blockage between God and me. Sometimes we don’t get the full picture.
• Sometimes we don’t realise what we need, but God does.

Second Principle: Why wouldn’t I want to do what God is asking me to do?

• Is it too hard? Scary? Do I dislike it?
• Need to look at my motivation. We are Christians. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour. Therefore, we obey Him and what He wants.
• Theological question – Is my life my own? 1 Corinthians 6:12-20, especially 19-20 “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything—but I will not be mastered by anything…. (verse 19) You are not your own; you were bought at a price.”
• What does God have for you on the other side of your fear?

Third Principle: Check out what you’ve heard.

• Ask wise, trusted people.
• Is your interpretation true?
• What does the Bible say?
• Intimacy with God is important.

• “God, can You please show or tell me a colour?”
